It’s not affordabilty alone the issue, but we believe that work itself is becoming more precarious and economic stability is no longer guaranteed. With technology and global politics changing rapidly, the need to support people and businesses has only increased.
The question is not whether the government should “get out of the way” or “print more money,” but rather: at what cost do we help people and support businesses, and how can we do it most effectively, making every dollar count?

Canada is not actively preparing itself for the future
While we continue to squabble over pipelines and petty issues, transformative changes are happening around the world. Technology is advancing at breakneck speed, and the very texture, structure, and shape of the economy are shifting drastically. If this isn’t obvious to everyone, it’s because too few people are paying attention.
The people we should really be listening to are those aged 18–30—they understand this far better than most “old” politicians. Ask them, and they’ll tell you the hard truth: many occupations we assume will always exist are either already gone or rapidly disappearing.
Economically, Canada needs a Fundamental Reckoning.
The state of the Canadian economy results from alternating rule by opposing parties. Liberals implement one set of policies, conservatives take the country in a completely different direction. This constant flip-flopping adds layers of complexity, creating inefficiency and often leaving our industries vulnerable to foreign wealth and influence. It’s a tough challenge to undo this, but with a strong mandate and a political will, things could be changed to improve the economy by making decisions that are free of ideology, partisanship, party internal and external forces that has nothing to do with the country and its people.
